You will be joining us at an exciting moment, with the opportunity to shape how our team and fund continue to grow.Your RoleAs a (Senior) Associate, you will be an integral member of our small and collaborative team. You will contribute across both investment activities and organisational development as we prepare for our next fund. Your input will have a direct influence on our strategy, culture, and long-term impact.Key Responsibilities1. Investment ExecutionIdentify, assess, and execute early-stage investments in integrated photonics and adjacent deeptech sectorsLead or contribute to due diligence across technical, commercial, financial, and legal aspectsPrepare clear, high-quality investment materials and presentations for the Investment CommitteeSupport deal structuring and maintain active involvement with portfolio companies after investment2. Portfolio ManagementProvide proactive support to portfolio companies through value-added analysis, strategic projects, and sector intelligenceMonitor performance, identify key developments, and communicate insights to the investment team and stakeholdersAssist partners in their board or observer roles to enhance portfolio company governance and strategic alignment3. Organisational Development & OperationsImprove and implement internal processes around sourcing, due diligence, reporting, and portfolio monitoringHelp manage interns and contribute to knowledge sharing and team developmentSupport fundraising operations, including LP engagement, data room preparation, and fund metrics4. Market & Ecosystem IntelligenceConduct research and analysis on sector trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologiesBuild and maintain relationships with founders, researchers, co-investors, and industry stakeholders around the worldWho You AreWe are a Dutch speaking office, so native Dutch proficiency level is a requirement for this role. In addition, we also require a English professional proficiency level.At least three years of experience in deeptech venture capital, technology M&A, strategy consulting, or a related fieldStrong academic background. A technical degree (for example, in photonics, physics, or engineering) is a plusA genuine interest in early-stage deeptech investing and a strong affinity for integrated photonics. You do not need to be an photonics engineer, but you are curious, eager to learn, and motivated to engage deeply with the technologyWe understand that candidates come from diverse paths.
