About the Role:

You will be developing sophisticated vision applications in Python. In collaboration with our robotics partner abroad, you will be leading the development and maintainability of the vision system,  ensuring  objects of interest are detected and communicated with the robot. The job is for a full time position in the Netherlands with a couple of trips abroad per year.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and architect robust software for our robotic systems, focusing on functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with our hardware and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration across the entire system.
  • Become an expert in ROS2, leveraging its powerful framework for building vision pipelines for complex robotic applications.
  • Tackle challenging projects like multi-camera detection, object localization, and communication protocol integration.
  • Leverage state-of-the-art machine learning techniques in computer vision for object detection and pose estimation.
  • Contribute to the full software lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment, including on-site installation and support at greenhouses.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, agile environment where continuous learning and improvement are key.

What You'll Need:

  • Strong Python programming skills 
  • Machine learning and/or deep learning Python libraries (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow or Scikit-learn)
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git, DVC) and continuous integration (Gitlab, Github) 
  • Knowledge of image processing techniques
  • Project management/social skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Located near Delft, Netherlands

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with hardware/software integration, particularly in robotics
  • Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and communication protocols commonly used in robotics
  • Experience with ROS2
  • Solid understanding of Linux and comfortable working in a command-line environment
  • Holds a driving license
