You can be part of our team As interim Structural Analyst Research and Development (R&D) you will work in the Naval & Structural group which is part of the Engineering department at Damen Naval. Your team will work on project basis and is divided over various projects, which contribute to both basic engineering and detailed engineering within the field of expertise. You will be involved in international research and development work related to the development, validation, and implementation of advanced ship structure assessments. As Structural Analyst R&D (Interim) you will make a structural design complete with relevant structural calculations starting from proposal phase up to the complete service life of the vessel. As Structural Analyst R&D (Interim) you will be responsible for the relevant project deliverables from class approval of the structure up to technical meetings with your colleagues, suppliers, class and or client representatives. You will direct the structural engineers in modelling the structure in 3D-CAD ending up with checking drawings and production packages. As interim Structural Analyst Research and Development (R&D), you will: Specify, evaluate, develop, and test simulation software. Integrate existing software products and get incompatible platforms to work together. Serve as member of technical project teams where you will be responsible for completing projects on schedule and within budget. Support teams with technical advice with respect to ship structure calculations. To succeed as interim Structural Analyst Research and Development (R&D) at Damen Naval, you should bring: Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant technical discipline. Experience with Python, FEM modelling and analysis software, such as ANSYS, NX or FEMAP. Technical understanding and knowledge of ship structures, object-oriented analysis, design, and programming. ~ Fluency in English both written and verbal and Dutch is preferred. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects. As a temporary member of our team, you will receive: Flexibility to work from home up to two days a week. This temporary assignment of Structural Analyst Research and Development (R&D) is exclusively offered on a secondment (detachering) or temporary employment contract basis. Freelance or ZZP agreements are not considered due to current Dutch legislation.
