Private Cloud Engineer

Location - Hybrid (3 days remote, 2 days onsite in Maasland/Utrecht, Netherlands)

About the Role :

Join a team that is driving progress by designing, building, managing, and modernizing critical IT systems relied upon every day. As a Private Cloud Engineer, you'll work on cutting-edge projects, including transforming and enhancing the IT infrastructure for major organizations, enabling them to remain data-driven and high-performing.

What You'll Do :

In this role, you'll be responsible for implementing and managing private cloud solutions. You'll work on complex architectural and security challenges, turning strategic goals into concrete solution building blocks. From configuration to implementation, you'll be hands-on and ensure everything aligns with best practices and industry standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Translating designs into tangible solutions and creating deployment instructions.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert, providing third-line support for technical queries.
  • Designing tactical solutions for integrations, migrations, security, and performance optimization.
  • Automating repetitive tasks and enhancing workflows for efficiency.
  • Developing and managing VMware vRealize Automation to offer self-service cloud portals.
  • Scaling and maintaining VMware-based cloud platforms.
  • Creating and implementing automation using CI/CD tools and best practices.
  • Monitoring, optimizing, and maintaining cloud environments, including handling upgrades, updates, and capacity management.
  • Documenting processes and training teams to enable operational excellence.

What We're Looking For :

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Hands-on experience with private cloud management (5+ years).
  • Strong knowledge of VMware platforms and automation tools like Red Hat Ansible.
  • Familiarity with IaaS and PaaS services, enterprise databases, and Secure by Design principles.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python, YAML, JavaScript).
  • Understanding of security best practices, encryption, and application/data segmentation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, container technologies (Kubernetes), and Nutanix.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, antivirus tools, and dashboarding.

Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities.
  • Capability to train and transfer knowledge to teams.

Additional Requirements

  • Dutch citizenship and a valid Dutch passport (essential for working with government clients).
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing Dutch.
