This is a strategic, long-term opportunity to join one of Europe’s most dynamic industrial regions, driving innovation and sustainability in mission-critical facilities.Our clients are global owner-operator and developer investing significantly in ambitious programmes to deliver state-of-the-art pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and decarbonisation projects throughout the Netherlands and wider European Union. With major investments underway, you will help shape the construction strategy for projects exceeding €1 billion in value.Role OverviewAs Senior Construction Manager, you will provide leadership from early design and constructability through to commissioning and start-up. Working closely with Project and Engineering Directors, you will ensure world-class standards in safety, quality, and performance across all construction management functions.You will be the focal point for construction execution, responsible for developing robust construction strategies, managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating key subcontractors and vendors, and ensuring seamless integration between engineering, project controls, and field execution.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee all phases of construction management—from planning through to handover and final account settlement.Implement best practices in construction governance, risk management, and project execution.Build, mentor, and develop high-performing construction teams across multiple work packages.Coordinate with engineering and design disciplines to ensure constructability and alignment with project milestones.Maintain strict adherence to HSE, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.Drive continuous improvement and innovation in construction methodologies and delivery models.Qualifications & ExperienceProven experience in managing large-scale capital or industrial projects within the Energy, Life Sciences, or Process Industries (Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas).Track record of successfully delivering construction projects exceeding €100 million.Strong background in project governance, contractor management, and commissioning.Experience with decarbonisation or sustainable industrial development projects is highly advantageous.Exceptional communication and leadership skills to interface with senior stakeholders and international project teams.Fluency in English is required; Dutch language skills are advantageous. xbpjoel If you are interested in finding out more about this position, please apply for the role or send your details and CV directly to Antony Fairclough or via the ENG Bauen website.We look forward to speaking with you.Keywords: Construction Manager, Senior Construction Manager, Construction Director, Project Execution, CAPEX, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Energy, Petrochemical, Decarbonisation, Project Management, Major Projects, Commissioning, Engineering, Project Delivery, Randstad, Netherlands, EU, Industrial Construction, Freelance Contract
