We are looking for a Cloud Network Engineer with expertise in physical and virtual networking technologies to join our team in The Netherlands. You are the ideal candidate if you enjoy designing, implementing, and managing high-performance, scalable, and secure networking solutions for data centers and hybrid cloud environments at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and deploy data center network solutions, including physical and virtual networking layers
  • Configure and manage OVN (Open Virtual Network) and OVS (Open vSwitch) to optimize virtualized network environments in Kubernetes and OpenStack
  • Implement advanced protocols such as BGP, VXLAN, and other overlay/underlay technologies to ensure seamless connectivity
  • Design and implement scalable and high-performance IPv4 and IPv6 network topologies for data center and hybrid cloud use cases
  • Manage and optimize networking technologies like SR-IOV and DPDK for enhanced performance and reduced latency
  • Design, integrate and manage Container Network Integration (CNI) for Kubernetes, ensuring seamless connectivity for containerized applications
  • Leverage virtualization tools to ensure efficient traffic flow across physical and virtual nodes
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, RCA, and resolve complex network issues in both physical and virtual environment
  • Automate network operations and configurations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or custom scripts (Python or similar)
  • Work on the integration of physical and virtual network components with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Implement robust security measures, including firewalls, segmentation, and access controls, for both physical and virtual networks
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in data center networking and virtualized network environments.
  • 3+ years of experience in working in an Agile organisation
  • Proven expertise in implementing and managing (virtual) networking technologies, such as OVN, OVS, SR-IOV, and DPDK
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including BGP, VXLAN, IPv4, and IPv6
  • Experience with containerized networking (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) using CNI plugins. (OVN, Calico, Cilium, Flannel, Multus)
  • Hands-on experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and scripting languages (Python preferred)
  • Proficiency with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, NVIDIA) and virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, OpenStack, or similar)
  • Familiarity with SDN and hybrid cloud networking solutions
  • Cloud certifications in networking (AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Networking)
