Assistant/ Associate Scientist – Specialist Critical Reagents

Yacht Life Sciences has a vacancy for an Assistant/ Associate Scientist Specialist Critical Reagents to workat Janssen Vaccines & Prevention in Leiden.
For the Bacterial Vaccines department we are recruiting an Assistant/ Associate Scientist Specialist Critical Reagents for multiple vaccine projects. These projects generate a large number of antigens, reference reagents, and various biochemical samples, mainly glycans, proteins, and glycoprotein antigens. In your work, you will interact with various BacVac teams and with Janssen Vaccines support departments. You will be expected to perform administrative and laboratory work in support of project teams.
Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Document new and existing antigens, reference reagents, and various (bio)chemical samples on time in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and dedicated databases (e.g., IBS, Genedata).
- Perform inventory management and administer storage locations (e.g., freezers).
- Aliquot, (re)label and distribute (reference) materials in the laboratory to the users.
- Arrange resupply of established (reference) material stocks.
- Organize periodic testing and retesting of reference reagents.
- Owner of the dedicated databases of critical reagents.
- Ship and receive parcels to/from external collaborators and service companies.
- Work in a multidisciplinary team of researchers and show a willingness to learn/explore new protocols.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
- You will be reporting to an (Associate) Scientist.
- Auxiliary activity: you will also provide support for operationallaboratory organization (e.g., for setup & renovation), in partnership with Janssen Vaccines support departments.
