Job description

Yacht Life Sciences has a vacancy for an EHS Specialist to work at Mentor Medical Systems B.V / Johnson & Johnson in Leiden (the Netherlands).

In this position, you will work under the direction of EH&S Manager, providing engineering support to ensure Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability within Mentor Medical Systems B.V in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local EH&S policies and standards relevant to Mentor as part of Johnson & Johnson.

Under (limited supervision) and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

• Expert in Occupational Hygiene subjects (e.g. noise, ergonomics, exposure to chemicals), Transport Safety, EH&S Risk Assessments (e.g. JSA’s, Risk assessments)
• Lead and / or support the implementation of EH&S Standards within your field of expertise
• Coach / lead teams of EH&S Representatives and Standards Owners / SME’s as part of Integrated Ownership of Safety Standards (IOSS)
• Perform EH&S assessments within projects and set up, lead and / or support EH&S projects (for example waste reduction, use of chemical substances)
• Lead incident investigations
• Lead in- and external audits and inspections (for example ISO 14001, ISO 45001, J&J EH&S Audits, governmental agencies)
• Conduct EH&S related risk assessments like facility, ergonomic and chemical risk assessments
• Give EH&S training on EH&S related topics
• Present periodically to the Site Leadership Team
• Develop and/or improve EH&S processes and practices

Job requirements

• Bachelor or Master in a relevant field of study (chemical, mechanical, electrical)
• Dutch and English in speaking and writing (must)
• At least 5 years’ experience in the field or EH&S (lab, R&D, chemical and/or biological environment)
• Additional course Safety Manager level 3 (“HVK”) and / or Industrial Hygiene (“AH”) or comparable
• Experience with international Management System Standards like ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
• Experience with management of Emergency Response

Terms of employment
We offer a challenging position in which you can work in a dynamic and international environment, guaranteeing diversity in your work and creating plenty of opportunities for personal development. It concerns a secondment agreement at Johnson & Johnson via Yacht for 6 months (with possible contract directly at J&J after the first 6 months), for 40 hours per week (working on site).
We offer a competitive package of employment conditions according to the seniority of the position (salary between 3800 and 5100 euros gross per period of 4 weeks, based on 40 h per week).
