Freelance Data Engineer / Python Developer – Amsterdam - Dutch Speaking*** One of my clients, a fast-growing Amsterdam-based startup is seeking a senior Freelance Data Engineer / Python Developer to design, build, and scale our data infrastructure and backend services. You’ll work closely with their founding team to deliver high-impact data pipelines and APIs in a modern cloud environment. Key Responsibilities: Architect, build, and optimize scalable big-data pipelines and ETL processes Develop robust backend services using Python and FastAPI Design and maintain cloud-native data platforms on AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, Redshift) Ensure data quality, observability, and performance at scale Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver data-driven features quickly Requirements: 10+ years professional experience in data engineering or backend development Deep expertise in Python, big data frameworks, and FastAPI Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services Proven track record building scalable data systems in high-growth environments Ability to work autonomously in a startup setting; strong communication skills Dutch speaking ZZP/BV setup*** Details: Freelance / Contract Location: Amsterdam (hybrid) Start: January Rate: Flexible but competitive If you're an experienced Python Developer in the Netherlands and open to freelance work and available to start in January, feel free to reach out directly on or send your CV to .
