The HAWK University of Applied Sciences Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen is looking to fill the following one-year position at the Faculty of Design in Hildesheim as soon as possible:

Research assistant (m/f/d) in the field of vectorization and data integration (E 11 TV-L, part-time with 19.90 hours/week)

The position will be filled on a temporary basis in accordance with Section 14 (2) of the Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act. The job advertisement is therefore only aimed at applicants (m/f/d) who have not yet been in an employment relationship with the State of Lower Saxony.
We are looking for a colleague (m/f/d) in the field of vectorization and data integration who would like to strengthen our interdisciplinary team of developers (m/f/d) and interaction designers (m/f/d) and has sound knowledge and practical experience in the field of current programming in the field of data integration and generative AI.

Our goal is to make the extensive data of our project catalog accessible and editable via our AI interface HAWKI

In this context, you will take on the following tasks

• Further development and maintenance of our existing MySQL databases by optimizing queries, indexing tables and implementing vector data (embedding) as well as the administration interfaces (e.g. dashboard, reports, etc.)
• Collaboration with our interdisciplinary team to develop applications and tools
• Interdisciplinary work with tools such as Figma to implement UI/UX standards

Your profile

• Completed university degree in computer science, creative coding or a related technology-based degree program
• Comprehensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern web frameworks as well as PHP, MySQL and the development of database architectures and implementation of vector data (embedding)
• Experienced use of design tools such as Figma and knowledge of UI/UX design principles
• Conceptual understanding, communication skills with an independent way of working and enjoy working in a team
