Het bedrijf was in Europa actief onder de naam Masterfoods maar sinds september 2007 heet het ook in Europa "Mars". Het Amerikaanse hoofdkwartier van Mars staat in Hackettstown (New Jersey). Het internationale hoofdkwartier is gevestigd in McLean in de deelstaat Virginia. Het Europese hoofdkwartier is gevestigd in Brussel (België). In Nederland heeft het een vestiging in Veghel. Het bedrijf is eigendom van de familie Mars. Oud-Beijerland: Hier worden maaltijden, vooral sauzen, gemaakt. Bekende merken zijn Uncle Ben's, Dolmio, Seeds of Change, Purasia, en Suzi-Wan. In Nederland garanderen meer dan 1450 medewerkers dat succes: 1200 medewerkers in Veghel en 250 medewerkers in Oud-Beijerland. Onze vestigingen in Veghel en Oud-Beijerland in Nederland zijn succesvol omdat ze moderne en doeltreffende productieprocessen hebben. Mars Nederland B.V. (Veghel) Veghel in Noord-Brabant is de locatie van een van de grootste chocoladefabrieken ter wereld. Mars produceert hier chocoladerepen voor de merken MARS®, BOUNTY®, TWIX®, SNICKERS®, MILKY WAY®, MALTESERS® en CELEBRATIONS®. De vestiging in Veghel produceert niet alleen voor de Nederlandse markt, maar ze levert ook halffabricaten aan veel andere Mars-vestigingen, zoals chocolade en pindanoten. Binnen Mars Europa bekleedt de vestiging in Veghel al jaren een vooraanstaande positie als een van de meest doeltreffende productiesites voor chocoladeproducten. Veghel is een voorbeeld voor andere vestigingen. Medewerkers van de fabriek worden dikwijls betrokken bij het opstarten van andere Mars-fabrieken. Nederlandse markt (Veghel) De hoofdkantoren voor marketing en sales van Mars Snackfood en Petcare in Nederland bevinden zich ook in Veghel. Van hieruit verkopen we, naast de chocoladerepen die we produceren, ook M&M'S®, DOVE® en BALISTO®. Onze merken voor dierenvoeding zijn PEDIGREE®, FROLIC® en CESAR® voor honden. WHISKAS®, SHEBA®, KITEKAT®, CATSAN® en PERFECT FIT® voor katten. Mars Food Europa (Oud-Beijerland) In Oud- Beijerland, ten zuiden van Rotterdam, ligt een hypermoderne voedingsfabriek die zich de grootste voedingsfabriek van Mars Europa kan noemen. In deze fabriek worden de oosterse en Zuid-Europese sauzen gemaakt voor de merken UNCLE BEN'S®, SUZI WAN®, DOLMIO®, SEEDS OF CHANGE® (100% biologisch) en recentelijk hebben we er ook de productie van het merk MIRACOLI® gestart. We leveren producten aan meer dan 25 landen. Om alle klanten optimaal te bedienen, levert Oud-Beijerland producten in een breed scala van verpakkingen en afmetingen. Functieomschrijving As an Industrial Engineer at Mars, you will be a key driver of continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. You will leverage your analytical and problem-solving skills to enhance equipment performance, reduce waste, and optimize costs. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement operational excellence initiatives, ensuring our manufacturing facilities operate at peak efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Utilize structured problem-solving techniques to analyze equipment performance, focusing on improving Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), minimizing scrap, and optimizing cost-to-serve metrics. Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations to identify root causes of equipment failures and inefficiencies, generating actionable insights for improvement. Change Management: Lead initiatives that drive business change, including program development and implementation to enhance manufacturing operations. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and management, to ensure alignment on improvement goals and best practices. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to inform decision-making processes and support continuous improvement efforts. Training and Coaching: Provide guidance and training to team members on improvement methodologies and tools to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Functie-eisen Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing or production roles, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Experience with structured problem-solving frameworks, such as IWS, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Skills: Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and drive improvements in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies. Experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector or similar industries. Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
