Our client is an international and global company and they have recently established the Dutch entity. They are now in the process of starting the operations and this brings you an exciting challenge - We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join the team and you will be able to oversee the whole process of setting up the office from finance/accounting perspective.
We'd be happy to consider candidates who have prior accounting related experience outside of NL, and have recently completed accounting/finance study in NL, as well as candidates who have well-established experience in the Netherlands.

Position Purpose

As an Accounting Specialist, you will support the Manager Finance & Accounting by establishing financial frameworks and processes before the operational launch in 2024 and maintaining them thereafter. Responsibilities include financial accounting, product costing, contract management, and variance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report daily accounting activities
  • Maintain the General Ledger in the ERP system
  • Ensure accuracy of financial transactions (AP/AR) and statements
  • Prepare accounting statements (B/S, P/L, cost accounting)
  • Reconcile bank accounts, AR, and AP
  • Handle invoicing and address overdue AR
  • File required tax forms
  • Track and maintain fixed assets
  • Prepare management and cost accounting reports
  • Update ERP system masters

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field (HBO, HEAO, or MEAO)
  • Based in the area of Rotterdam
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in AP/AR/Accounting
  • Knowledge of Dutch GAAP and tax affairs
  • Proactive, service-oriented, proficient in English, and skilled in MS Office and ERP/accounting systems
