Operation Director

Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Director for one of our clients with businesses running in Benelux region. This role is crucial for enhancing operational management functions and fostering business development alongside the commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering customer-centric services that are both agile and cost-efficient, while leading a diverse operational team across multiple global locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bridge Commercial and Operations departments, ensuring seamless integration and leadership in operational management activities.
• Identify and capitalize on business development opportunities in collaboration with the commercial team.
• Provide high-quality, flexible, and cost-effective services tailored to customer needs.
• Manage and lead operational teams responsible for Forwarding, Customs, Customer Service, S&OP planning, and Procurement.
• Ensure optimal utilization of operational resources across various locations including Europe, and Asia.
• Oversee operations managers in different regions to implement business initiatives and promote the adoption of best practices.
• Collaborate with IT, Strategic Platforms Director, and Finance to enhance business processes.
• Support and inform decision-making processes within the Management Team and Board of Directors with precise operational data.

Key Competencies/Professional Skills:

• Master's degree in a relevant field such as Logistics or a related technical area.
• At least 5 years of experience in managing global operations teams.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach.
• Commitment to Lean management and quality improvement practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English.
