Salt is currently hiring a Backend Engineer for a client of ours in the Netherlands on a Full-time basis.
Backend Engineer – TypeScript / Node.Location: Hybrid within the Netherlands (candidates may be based anywhere in NL) - mainly remote.
Our client is seeking a highly capable Backend Engineer with deep expertise in modern TypeScript/Node.This role focuses on building scalable, reliable, and well-architected backend systems within a TS-PERN environment (TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Express, React, Node.The ideal candidate is someone who understands how to design and deliver robust APIs, structure backend services effectively, and work with data at scale — while upholding high standards of code quality, performance, and maintainability.
Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs (REST; Contribute to backend architecture decisions and technical direction
Strong, proven background in backend engineering
Solid understanding of backend best practices, clean architecture, and scalable system design
React knowledge is a bonus but not required — this is a predominantly backend role. Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams
Strong sense of ownership, autonomy, and commitment to high-quality delivery
Join a team that values engineering excellence, clarity, and thoughtful architecture
Flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the Netherlands with some hybrid in office in the Randstad region
