We are seeking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (Logistics) who is responsible for the mechanical design and development of innovative production systems for the food processing industry, from concept to product launch. The Mechanical Design Engineer (Logistics) has good knowledge of the food processing industry to be able to make a creative contribution and can turn ideas into industrial solutions. This position will focus on transport systems like conveyor technology and logistics which are designed using ModelBased Design.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer (Logistics), you’ll:
In cooperation with a project team, efficiently design and develop all mechanical aspects of new machinery and solutions, assemblies and components and to prepare and issue documentation and drawings as required by the Product Development Process (PDP). Work in project teams on the development of concepts and be responsible for the testing, investigation and verification of your concepts and designs.
Pay particular attention to the implementation of the function, hygienic and cleaning aspects, reliability, safety, production technologies and cost price.
Action the mechanical design and development of new machinery, assemblies and components, to satisfy the design and cost requirements and relevant international standards to prepare assembly/detail drawings and part lists.
Communicate changes or updates in content of documentation.
Perform evaluations, testing and analyses at customer site.
Stay up to date with the relevant developments in the field of mechanical engineering.
Communicate in cross functional teams as well as contribute to team collaboration and build team spirit.
To excel in this role, you bring with you:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or in related fields, Master’s degree in relevant field is a plus. Experience in the design of technical systems is desirable, preferably in the food industry & experience with drawing tools, databases, and programming for preparation of documentation, like Creo, Windchill and MDB design principles
Knowledge of materials like plastics and injection molding as well as knowledge of mechatronics and how it interacts with mechanical engineering
Good English skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently, while being a team player
