Our client is a global player in the food industry that has approx. 150 offices across the world. On behalf of them, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to look after the European market. You will report to the Financial Controller Atlantic who is based in Mexico, overseeing financial operations and compliance for Europe.

Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, tax compliance, month-end closing, and FX exposure monitoring
Ensure compliance with European financial regulations, collaborating with partners such as BIG4
Collaborate with the global accounting services team to identify and implement process improvements
Accounting
Review financial statements and balance sheets for European entities to ensure accuracy and timely completion
Oversee payroll processes and manage tax compliance for European operations
Ensure timely and accurate annual financial statement filings, working with auditors and stakeholders
Audit Assistance
~ Support external and internal audits, maintain financial controls, and respond to auditor queries

Participate in training, foster a positive team environment, and serve as the main contact for accounting and tax matters

Record time accurately, handle client contracts, apply control frameworks, communicate effectively, and mentor staff
Fluency in Dutch and English
~ Degree in Accounting or Finance
~Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP & Tax Compliance
~ Visible leadership skills - This role doesn't have any direct reports but we are looking for candidates who can mentor a junior colleague in the Amsterdam office
~ Proficiency in MS Office and SAP
