OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE
MUS (Europe ): Develop MUFG’s EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products (ABS/MBS) business for European and UK clients; including having responsibility for the origination, structuring and underwriting on behalf of MUS (Europe) and MUS (EMEA). In addition, support the syndication as required by and in conjunction with the DCM Syndicate team. Support distribution with the MUS (Europe ) and MUS (EMEA) Sales teams as appropriate.

MUFG Bank: Support the origination and execution of diversified pool securitisation transactions for European and UK clients (including trade receivables, auto, lease, handset and RMBS asset classes) in co-ordination with the other SP&SCF members.

Support EIBD in the overall development of their business including new asset class penetration, as well as supporting any origination, execution and distribution activities where required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MUS (Europe) (as functional Dual-hat)

• Manage the EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products business within the risk appetite of the firm, and all legal and regulatory requirements
• Active management of the risks related to the above mentioned businesses
• Support the Head of SP&SCF to prepare required reporting in order to ensure compliance with the appropriate internal and external regulations and procedures.
• Co-ordinate with the Head of Origination SP&SCF to synchronize public ABS origination activities
• Co-ordinate with the Head of Structuring SP&SCF as regards the appropriate allocation of team resources and with respect to the execution of EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products transactions
• Co-ordinate with the CMG Syndicate team to assist in syndication activities related to EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products transactions
• Co-ordinate with and support the MUS (Europe) and MUS (EMEA) Sales teams in order to assist in the syndication and distribution activities related to EMEA Public (Term) and private placement Securitised Products transactions
• Developing new related products, valuation models and risk monitoring tools related to the above business
• Conduct the business in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements, accounting for the fact that the team is located on the private side. Review and implement processes for the SP&SCF EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products business to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines
• Consider risk management strategies and best practice/processes to support the business
• Maintain high risk management standards within the team, and help maintain high risk management standards across the regions.
• Support the Head of Securitised Products and Supply Chain Finance Group – EMEA and International Head of Securitized Products in the overall business development
• Collaborating with and supporting MUFG Bank / other MUFG companies by providing the above products and solutions to their clients (internal/external)
• Work in partnership with broader groups in MUS (Europe), MUFG Securities / MUMSS / MUFG Bank to develop the business locally and globally (internally/externally)
• Support the Head of SP&SCF to develop the business and its participation in the Firm’s Business strategy including formulating and executing EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products strategy, setting objectives and business plans and managing revenue and costs within the business
• Leading, directing, managing junior staff within SP&SCF to ensure that they (i) understand their responsibilities and duties applicable to their roles, (ii) comply with the Firm’s Risk Management Committee and overseeing the Department/Unit operating within the Firm’s defined risk appetite
• Contributing to the Company’s revenue target and to enhancing the worldwide franchise of MUFG
• Maintaining and enhancing good working relationships with stakeholders, including business and control/infrastructure teams globally
• Support the Head of SP&SCF to plan and prepare the budget for the Securitised Products & Supply Chain Finance Group – EMEA. Ensure business expenditure is agreed and monitored. Ensure revenues from the public (Term) Securitised Products mandates are properly recorded/recognised and reflected in MUS (Europe) accounts and recorded for monitoring / fee sharing purposes. Keep the Head of SP&SCF updated in this regard.
• Managing and developing relationships with clients (where applicable) with a view to expand the business enhancing the franchise of MUFG
• With regard to International responsibilities, where applicable, support the International Head of Securitized Products and the strategy determined by the International Business Head of MUSHD, including the activity, and building of, a best-in-class International Business.
  
  MUFG Bank (as required)
• [TBC Lead or] support the execution of Client Securitisation Transactions including the execution of warehouse facilities/Private ABS (non-term) deals for UK and European clients
• Support the co-ordination with MUS (Europe) / MUS (EMEA) Sales teams with respect to distribution of private securitisation / portfolio transactions;
• Assist the Head of Origination in the origination of Client Securitisation Transactions in EMEA, in particular providing technical structuring input into client pitches
• Develop and analyse securitisation structures and produce risk reports including cash flow modelling analysis.
• Manage day to day client or counterparty interactions within the Securitisation team at a counterpart level; identify and understand client needs in order to develop product solutions.
• Manage deal negotiations in accordance with SP&SCF procedures.
• Review documentation and carry accountability for the appropriate level of sign off (chop) within SP&SCF ensuring that documents are actioned as appropriate.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate engagement and support to develop, secure and maximise product and deal opportunities.
• Act as the first point of contact for technical and client related issues, liaising with other stakeholders to seek resolution and / or escalating as required.
• As a lead structurer manage the deal team, allocate activities and provide coaching and guidance as required.
• Lead specified SP&SCF projects and initiatives, setting appropriate objectives to effectively and efficiently conclude the project. Contribute to GCIB projects.
• Represent MUFG at external forums and contribute to technical industry discussions in order to promote the Bank’s products and services.
• Provide information and make presentations to senior level audiences as required to inform decision making.
• Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.
• Work in partnership with other parts of MUFG to deliver franchise and business growth.

  Degree Level and/or relevant industry expertise
  
  Work Experience
  Extensive relevant industry experience with a deep conceptual understanding of the securitisation business including, but not limited to, public asset backed securitisation transactions, private diversified pool securitisation transactions financed by a bank and/or an Asset Backed Commercial Paper Conduit
  Demonstrable track record in origination and execution of public securitisation transactions in the UK and European markets
