DAF Trucks is a leading global manufacturer of commercial vehicles, known for our commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. As we embark on a digital transformation journey, we are seeking a visionary Director of DAF Digital to lead our efforts in developing cutting-edge customer and employee-facing digital services, data products, and an enterprise-grade cloud data platform.
The Director of DAF Digital will be at the forefront of DAF Trucks' strategic digital initiatives, driving the digital transformation of our business and IT units. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to manage a diverse team of over 100 professionals, including managers and onshore/offshore development teams. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enabling our digital transformation, leveraging cloud-native architectures, and implementing agile best practices. This is not a sales position, but it is critical that you can sell your ideas to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a large team of digital professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Oversee the development and implementation of customer and employee-facing digital services and data products
  • Maintain and enhance an enterprise-grade cloud data platform, primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Drive the digital transformation of DAF' business and IT units, ensuring alignment with our overall strategic objectives; serving as a spokesperson for driving new technologies and approaches
  • Own, maintain, and provide strategic guidance on DAF's Digital Strategy, in close collaboration with Products & Services Planning department; presenting status and roadmaps to audiences across DAF, including the Board of Management
  • Bridge the gap between technical teams and business customers/stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of digital initiatives with business needs
  • Ensure adherence to agile best practices, program management principles, and executive stakeholder management
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement in digital service delivery and product development; contributing to overall architecture, framework, and design patterns
  • Coordinate, communicate & collaborate in a global context with IT & Digital Solutions colleagues in North America (Seattle-area)
