Junior Financial Director

This technology scale-up that doubled in size during the last two years is seeking a Finance Director to join its management team and take ownership of all financial aspects within this dynamic, fast-growing scale-up. The Finance Director will play a critical role in collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data to drive organizational decision-making and shareholder communication. Additionally, the successful candidate will actively contribute to shaping the company's M&A strategy and supporting the international growth ambitions.
The Finance Director will be end-responsible for all international financial activities, ensuring efficient management of internal and external financial processes. This individual will support the business in improving performance, provide actionable financial insights, and ensure compliance with local legislation.
Advise the board on financial strategy and translate it into actionable long- and short-term plans
Maintain and optimize a well-functioning finance organization by building trust, fostering strong relationships, and driving process improvements
Provide clear, actionable insights into operating results and deviations to the leadership team
Prepare statutory financial statements and collaborate with external auditors
Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable and Treasury Management
Coordinate and evaluate business cases from both financial and commercial perspectives
Work closely with the Finance Manager to organize and execute all financial activities
The ideal Finance Director at the company is a strategic, detail-oriented leader with a collaborative, results-driven approach. They excel in fast-paced, remote-first environments, building trust and driving process improvements. Passionate about making an impact, they will help shape the company's financial future and support its growth and M&A strategy.
A master's degree in Accounting, Controlling (post-qualification is a plus)
~Strong knowledge of corporate finance, venture capital, and private equity, familiarity with Dutch GAAP and local tax laws
~ Fluency in both Dutch and English (written and spoken)
~ Former experience with mergers and acquisitions (having been acquired or acquiring) is highly preferred
Experience working in international, remote-first teams
