The Team
The role sits within the Banking Risk function under the Financial Risk department. This team has global responsibility for identifying and addressing market risks that impact consolidated balance sheets. It's a high-performing, international team that values collaboration, continuous development, and knowledge sharing.
Analyse and assess interest rate risk exposures, implementing risk systems and regulatory changes for IRRBB.
Contribute to the development of risk policies, ensuring the mitigation of financial risks and protecting the organisation's reputation.
Carry out stress testing and oversee the lifecycle of risk models, monitoring key interest rate risk metrics.
Offer advice and insights on financial risk appetite and strategic risk management decisions.
Build strong relationships across departments, contributing to a cohesive approach to financial risk oversight.
Provide constructive analysis and support to senior risk managers and first line defence colleagues to address risks effectively.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Risk Specialist with a strong technical background and a collaborative mindset. As strong quantitative skills and a deep understanding of market risk concepts, with the ability to analyse complex risk metrics and implement effective risk management measures.
~8–10 years of relevant experience in risk management with deep expertise in Asset & Liability Management and IRRBB regulations.
~ A solid understanding of financial risk management, particularly interest rate risk, and experience with relevant financial products and risk mitigation strategies.
~ Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and their implications for IRRBB and broader financial risk management.
~ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts clearly to senior stakeholders and other teams.
~ A collaborative attitude and the ability to build relationships across different departments and regions, managing conflicting priorities and diverse perspectives.
~ Strong presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge and support senior risk management colleagues in managing financial risks effectively.
