Cloud Enigneer

As a Private Cloud Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing, managing, and modernising IT infrastructure for a high-profile client. You'll tackle complex architecture and security challenges while implementing cutting-edge cloud solutions.

What You'll Do

• Execute project activities, manage cloud environments, and drive further development.

• Solve complex architecture and security issues daily.

• Translate strategic plans into concrete solution building blocks.

• Configure and implement solutions based on the latest technologies.

• Provide third-line support and be the go-to expert for technical queries.

• Develop tactical solutions for integrations, migrations, security, and performance optimisation.

• Support and train teams in automation and documentation best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate manual operations to enhance efficiency.

• Develop and manage VMware vRealize Automation for self-service cloud portals.

• Engineer automated workflows and VM deployments using VMware-based platforms.

• Maintain and scale VMware-based cloud application platforms.

• Develop, test, and implement automation using CI/CD tools and best practices.

• Perform upgrades, updates, and optimise cloud environments.

• Manage release cycles, capacity planning, and monitoring.

• Design and oversee management processes for cloud infrastructure.

Work Location & Requirements

• Hybrid work model:

• Must hold Dutch nationality and a valid Dutch passport.

• Proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written) required.

Who You Are

• At least 5 years of experience in managing private cloud environments.

• Strong understanding of hosting (IaaS & PaaS), high availability, performance, scalability, and security.

• Experience with automation, scripting, and cloud infrastructure.

• Familiarity with tools and technologies such as:

• Red Hat Ansible for automation.
• Secure by Design principles.
• Red Hat Linux (RHCSA certification preferred).
• Scripting languages: Ansible, PowerShell, Python, YAML, JavaScript.
• Version control: GitLab & Git.
• Monitoring & logging tools.
• Compute, network, and storage design concepts.
• Kubernetes and container technologies.
• CI/CD tools.
• Nutanix.
