Position Summary

Lead the Regional Distribution Center in Wijchen for 1 year; including all warehouse activities, value added services (VAS), inbound/ outbound shipments and compliance requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage site financials, performance objectives and distribution center KPI’s to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Optimize inventory to ensure accuracy and cash performance while controlling any scrap requirements at the site.
  • Lead continuous improvement plans to deliver cost reductions and service level.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in warehousing policies, procedures and metrics.
  • Ensure that the site is fully engaged in the support of new product introductions (NPI) and the management of any product recalls.
  • Develop close relationships with key internal and external global stakeholders to ensure that customer orders are processed efficiently and in line with our goals.
  • Work with stakeholders in other distribution centers and transport/ trade compliance departments to help optimize the global network.
  • Management, training and development of all employees on site with succession planning in place to meet future site needs.
  • Serve as Site Coordinator and align with HSE and Quality leaders to ensure that the distribution center will meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Ensure that site security is effective with a robust Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in place and support local site committees and Works Council activities.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing the activities on a daily basis at the site.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Fluency in Dutch and English required.
  • Experienced people manager with ability to lead, operate and motivate an operations team.
  • Excellent analytical, persuasion and influencing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and warehousing design flow

preferred.

  • Experience of Oracle systems would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a global environment and with different cultures.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage a multitude of high priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to make good judgments in an increasingly complex business by effectively sourcing and analyzing critical information and making effective, timely decisions; taking into account the needs and impacts on business stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including proven verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business, an effective persuader who clearly articulates the way forward by demonstrating a clear understanding of the business issue / opportunity.
  • Ability to build effective relationships both internal and externally.
  • Ability to consistently achieve results. To look for continuous improvements and embrace change to drive the business forward.
  • Uses data and analytics to proactively monitor and review site plans to exceed targets and
  • drive root cause analysis to ensure a permanent solution.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • University Degree preferred.
  • Ten years work experience within a distribution and/or logistics environment.
  • Distribution/Logistics professional with a solid understanding of best practices in warehouse operations.
  • Experience of at least five years leading a distribution center with responsibility for the planning and budgeting of site operations.
