About Lab Associates
Lab Associates is a one-stop-shop for its international target group of plant (scientific) laboratories and plant manufacturing and processing industries in over 65 countries. We can build and equip a complete laboratory with our partners. Our focus is on core products such as automated systems, sterilization of liquid substances ('media'), dosing/filling devices, culture vessels, growth racks and growth systems, in addition to other laboratory equipment and tools, furniture, bio-chemicals and gelling agents (e.g. agar).

Responsibility
You are the strategic technical innovator who can make our offering in devices and automation solutions future-oriented and future-proof, as well as the manager who can motivate, manage and lead further our technical team.

Our technical team (approx. 5 FTE) is responsible for:
Construction, installation and maintenance/repair of in-house developed devices;
Installation and maintenance/repair of devices built by manufacturers we represent;
Research & development of new/current devices and automation solutions for our customers.

How will you do this?
Setting, monitoring and providing feedback on the technical direction together with the director/owner;
Setting goals and targets for the team, monitoring this and adjusting where necessary;
You are responsible for setting up, implementing and controlling the quality management system and certification processes of the technical department;
Setting up, implementing and controlling construction, installation and maintenance/repair processes for our self-developed devices and system solutions in addition to third-party supplied equipment;
Actively seeking new opportunities, developments and possibilities to future-proof and maintain our current devices. This partly in close consultation with input from Marketing & Sales;
You prepare and monitor cost price and 'bill of material' analyses;
You maintain your professional knowledge and go to trade fairs and conferences at home and abroad.


What do we ask?
You have at least a technical Bachelor degree with several years of experience in a similar position;
You have knowledge of or strong interests in electrical engineering and electronics, mechanics, process engineering, robotics and software;
You are interested in (plant) laboratories and plant biology;
You have strong analytical and communication skills, and know how to motivate, manage and convince people;
You have excellent leadership skills and you focus on the development of your team;
Your English language skills (written and oral) are excellent, Dutch language skills are a bonus();
You like challenges.
