The Business Development Manager is a growth-focused role responsible for expanding FPS's market presence, acquiring high-potential customers, and driving revenue and profitability. This role goes beyond routine account management by actively identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and positioning FPS as the preferred provider of flexible packaging solutions.
With a strong emphasis on sales execution, the Business Development Manager leads prospecting efforts, formulates competitive sales strategies, and navigates complex negotiations to secure both high-value and high-volume contracts. The role involves deep market analysis, trend forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration to align FPS's capabilities with emerging customer needs.
By continuously refining sales approaches, adapting to market dynamics, and leveraging innovation, the Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in accelerating FPS's growth and solidifying its leadership in the industry.
Sales & Business Growth:
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and Contribution Margin growth targets set by the Management Team.
Drive new business development while expanding FPS's current market share.
Interface with cross-functional teams—Production, Quality, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, and Shipping—to ensure customer satisfaction.
Use virtual selling techniques and travel within the assigned territory to meet sales targets.
Maintain a healthy sales funnel of qualified leads to drive consistent business growth.
Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and deal closures to secure long-term partnerships.
Re-price underperforming accounts where possible to achieve target margins.
Work closely with internal teams to determine and pursue lost and new customer opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Account Management:
Manage bigger accounts and proactively address customer concerns to ensure retention and growth in close cooperation with the Customer Service Representatives.
Engage with the Sales Management of the Business Unit to execute the defined sales strategies effectively.
Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts to maximize revenue.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to refine business strategies.
Work with Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing to align customer requirements with business capabilities.
If applicable, negotiate with supplier to support business unit needs.
Coordinate with plant teams to optimize production and fulfillment strategies.
Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and performance reports for senior management.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably in industrial packaging or a related industry.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Microsoft Office (excel, CRM).
