Country Manager

We are looking for a strategic and commercially-driven Country Manager to lead the growth and operations in the Netherlands. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial leader with a growth mindset, an understanding of revenue operations, and a high sense of ownership who thrives in a start-up environment and is deeply committed to talent and improving operations through product-led solutions and AI.
As our first Country Manager, you report to the CEO and work closely with the founders and department leads. In this unique role, you will own and drive market expansion, client success, retention, and operational excellence - whilst leading, inspiring, and building a high-performing team.
You will get to shape the future of Settly and create a world where everyone feels at home. You will foster an environment with DE&I at our centre, a place where people feel a sense of belonging and thrive through coaching, feedback, upskilling, and empowerment.
Your Responsibilities
Market Growth & Expansion
- Own and drive the growth strategy for the Benelux, ensuring new sustainable revenue streams and market share expansion
- Analyze market trends and lead initiatives to expand our business through multi-channel growth and GTM strategies backed by data-driven decision-making.
- Drive NRR by identifying business opportunities with existing clients and both selling and operationalising the initiatives.
- Represent Settly as a thought leader and speaker at events, communities, and conferences (online and in person), nurturing relationships with leads & customers
Client Success & Retention
- Lead client success and retention, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and long-term partnerships through strategic planning and optimizing service delivery.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the customer journey and experience, ensuring we create ambassadors for life.
- Create a culture of experimentation and lead the commercialisation of new products and ideas within your market
Operational Excellence
- Own the market P&L and budget, set goals and strategy for the team
- Optimize team performance, processes, and workflows using product-led solutions that drive efficiencies that reduce costs and improve productivity
- Champion the integration of AI-driven to enhance decision-making and performance.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, inspire, and build a high-performing, driven team, fostering a culture of innovation, positive impact, and accountability.
- Develop and implement strategies for talent growth, career progression, and employee engagement.
- Create an environment where people feel a sense of belonging and thrive through coaching, upskilling, and empowerment.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar entrepreneurial role within a scale-up
- Experience with or passionate about the Future of Work
- Proven track record growing a fast-paced business in the Netherlands
- Strong negotiation skills and proven track record in mid-market/enterprise sales
- Experience with leveraging AI, automation, and product-led solutions for growth
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and people development skills.
- Growth mindset, with a drive for operational excellence.
- Fluency in English and Dutch, strong communication & presentation skills
