SENIOR VALUATIONS ANALYST - AMSTERDAM

Finance & Valuation Expertise Needed

Altum Consulting are partnering directly with our client, a leading, international private equity investment firm located in Amsterdam to support them in hiring an experienced and hands-on Senior Valuations Analyst.

This is a newly created role that will be working as a part of a high-performing and analytical team and is an excellent opportunity to work closely with an experienced valuation team and play a key role in the ongoing execution of the firm's valuation policy, as well as the development of valuation methodologies, models, and tools. Role & Responsibilities

1. Monthly Valuation Process

   • Assist in preparing valuations for co-investment and portfolio finance, ensuring smooth execution of day-to-day fund valuation procedures.

   • Maintain and update critical valuation inputs for models, staying on top of relevant events impacting portfolio companies.

   • Conduct daily controls and checks to validate the performance of valuation tools and monitor results throughout the month.

   • Collaborate with Investment Accounting and Portfolio & Risk teams, ensuring seamless coordination during valuation committee meetings and monthly/quarterly reporting cycles.

   • Prepare and deliver monthly valuation reports for internal stakeholders, including the valuation committee.

   • Contribute to streamlining and improving valuation processes for greater efficiency.

2. Valuation Models, Tools, and Technology

   • Oversee the flow of information between valuation and accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

   • Perform quality control checks on valuation data inputs and outputs.

   • Maintain and update existing valuation models and tools, while also contributing to the development of new models.

   • Collaborate with global technology teams, investment professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure valuation data integrity within the accounting system.

3. Investment Valuation Reporting

   • Prepare and update monthly investment and fund-level valuation reports and analytics.

   • Support the development and maintenance of management reports, including trending reports.

   • Maintain the valuation database and ensure smooth interaction with downstream systems.

   • Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed to support decision-making and strategy.

Education & Experience

• Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field.

• CFA or progress toward CFA is desired

  • At least 3 years of experience in quantitative analysis, financial modeling, or valuation, ideally within a financial services or investment management environment.

  • Strong academic qualifications and understanding of fair value accounting (US GAAP and IFRS).

  • Familiarity with valuation concepts, particularly for debt/equity financial instruments.

  • Experience working with database systems and related technologies is an advantage.

    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced data manipulation and modeling capabilities.

    • Knowledge of R-Studio, SQL, or other coding languages is highly desirable.

    • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under tight deadlines.

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.

    • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently.

    • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.

    • Comfortable working collaboratively across departments and teams to achieve shared goals.
