We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Restaurant Manager for our Michelin star restaurant The White Room. In this position you will lead and motivate our White Room team together with Chef de Cuisine Tristan de Boer towards our goal of achieving the 2nd Michelin Star.
Your main responsibility is ensuring that our guests have an exceptional fine dining experience by providing great service with attentiveness and a personal touch. With our Sommelier and Chef, you are responsible for menu creation and beverage pairings.
Your main responsibilities;
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Restaurant the White Room*;
- Welcome and greet guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring an extraordinary first impression;
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu offerings, wine pairings, and any special features of the day;
- Maintaining and creating good relationship with regular guests;
- Handle guest feedback and concerns with tact and efficiency, striving for swift resolution and ensuring guest satisfaction;
- Ability to manage budgets, analyze inventory, and monitor food and labor costs;
- Stimulate profitability by up- and cross selling in the restaurant and through hotel resources;
- Further develop and manage the beverage offering in the restaurant together with the Sommelier;
- Assuring training and development of (new) team members based on LQA and service standards;
- Pro-active in innovations and implementations together with the Chef de Cuisine;
- Making sure to maintain and support the image of the restaurant within the (international) hospitality industry.

The location of Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam marks the heart of the Dutch capital as it overlooks the Royal Palace and National Monument on Dam Square. The hotel offers top-class gastronomic experiences in Restaurant the White Room by Jacob Jan Boerma, the exclusive Michelin-starred restaurant in the hotel. The hotel also houses the award-winning cocktail bar The Tailor and the modern elegant Grand Café Krasnapolsky.
Along with 402 modern rooms, more than 2000 square meters of meeting space and a new Spa & Wellness for those seeking ultimate relaxation, Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky has everything to provide an unforgettable stay with an authentic local touch. In addition, the hotel marks itself by the monumental Winter Garden dating back to 1880, where many special events have taken place and breakfast is served.
The name The White Room is derived from the historical name of the room 'De Witte Zaal', the name that was given to the restaurant when it first opened in 1885. The room is listed as a monument and is considered to be the oldest restaurant of Amsterdam in original condition. History and future are connected with one another, due to the modern styling of this unique restaurant. Jacob Jan Boerma is the Signature Chef of Restaurant The White Room*. The team that carries out his vision in Amsterdam is led by Chef de Cuisine Tristan de Boer and Maître Bram Hommes.
What we wish you will bring with you
- Experience on leadership level within a Michelin Star or fine dining establishment. Experience in a hotel is a plus;
- Understanding of fine dining, including beverage service, tableside preparations and exceptional attention to detail;
- Strong leadership with interpersonal, and team-building skills;
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in the English language, Dutch is a plus.
