Job Description:
As HR Director, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing HR strategies that align with the company's objectives. There is little to nothing in place on the HR front at the moment.
The new HR Director will be responsible for building the business partnering role and HR operations from scratch. The primary focus will be HR for the business. This includes leadership development, recruitment, facilitating cultural changes, implementing new procedures and processes, innovation, etc. You will be closely working with the management team and other executives at the HQ office.
The new HR Director should have experience in medium-sized enterprises and understand this unique dynamic. They must know that rapidly shifting between strategy and operations is the only right way forward, always with structural solutions in mind. It is uncertain whether candidates with experience only in large corporate settings will be successful in this specific environment.
You will work closely with senior management to foster a culture of excellence, drive talent initiatives, and establish and continuously improve HR processes to support the organization's growth and success.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with business goals and the needs of the operational directors and the HQ.
- Act as an operational leader for all HR topics, ensuring alignment with company policies and practices.
- Collaborate with senior management at both business level as well as HQ level on workforce planning, recruitment, and retention of top talent.
- Oversee the effective execution of performance management processes, training programs, and employee satisfaction initiatives.
- Advise and support regional leaders on HR-related matters, including organizational design, change management, and labor relations.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and implement best practices in HR processes.
- Lead innovative HR projects, such as implementing AI-driven recruitment tools, digital learning platforms, and HR system improvements.
- Manage HR operations, including benefits administration, safety programs, and wellness initiatives, in accordance with company standards and legislation.
Profile and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus.
- 12-18 years of experience in HR, with the last few years in leadership roles within an international medium-sized environment. Experience in business services, and/or (food) retail is highly desirable. Experience delivering value within a decentralized organizational structure is particularly advantageous.
- Proficiency in German is essential.
- Ambitious to get things done and to grow within the organization.
- Culturally and organizationally sensitive.
- Positive, energetic personality with a "can do & will do" mentality.
- Knowledge of Dutch and German labor laws and HR best practices is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence effectively at all levels.
- Proven experience in organizational change, promoting a positive work culture, and managing talent programs.
- Willingness to travel once a week/bi-weekly.
