The Freight Manager, as a working manager, is responsible for the quotation, set up, execution, and billing of each project in the EMEA market.

He/She must establish/maintain a strong network of partners to support the execution of these type of projects (incl enhanced service level capabilities such as: white glove, light assembly, warehousing, and transportation), manage the project(s) according to established processes, have financial control over costs & revenue and therefor is analytically strong.

He/She must have knowledge and experience in Global Ocean freight and freight by air.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but not limited to, the following:

Control over Initiation (Organization)

It's all about organizing the project and involving both Move- and Control Tower so that the project is delivered on time, within the budget, and according to customer satisfaction.

Develop and suggest process and system solutions in the interest of continuous improvement.

Review or analyze performance metrics, costs, and other areas as required to drive best practices and continuous improvement.

Control over Planning (Time);

Execution of upcoming projects conform to Project Plan (provided by Project Manager Control Tower) and anticipate, respond to, and manage issues and urgent requests that come up from warehouses, transportation team, etc.

Ensure accurate scheduling, timely product pickup from suppliers and delivery to store site, including special last mile to store and delivery services that may be required. Ensure you are well connected with site supervisors to coordinate accurate and timely delivery to the store site.

Control over Execution (Quality/ Communication);

Partner and collaborate closely with customer management and Project Managers to ensure effective planning and coordination of all shipments from supplier to store site, warehousing selection set up and on-site training of personnel, management of WMS systems, inventory, shipments, and last-mile delivery. Ensure the customer knows what he can expect and determine what internal and external partners must supply.

And continuously monitor this process. Evaluate and solve issues that may arise daily to enable strong customer communication and ensure the product gets to the store in accordance with the store build schedule.

Control over Closure (Budget);

Make sure that projects are executed within the defined budget and SOW agreement and that no unforeseen circumstances arise.

Control over Network

You will be responsible for procuring, negotiating rates and training all warehouses, and white glove delivery carriers we partner with, when necessary, that may include traveling to the warehouse site in person.

Partner with other teams for Project planning and forecasting to prepare the network for smooth execution. You will be responsible for on-time and accurate billing by the service providers we work with.
