Our client is looking for an experienced Network Engineer with a strong focus on security to join their team in the Netherlands. The role involves designing, implementing and securing network infrastructure while ensuring high availability and protection against cyber threats.

This position requires expertise in firewalls, switching and network security technologies from vendors like Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet and Aruba. The ideal candidate will hold relevant certifications and have a proven track record in managing secure network environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy and maintain secure network infrastructures
  • Configure and manage firewalls including Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet and others
  • Implement and optimise switching and routing solutions across enterprise environments
  • Conduct network security assessments and proactively address vulnerabilities
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex connectivity and security issues
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and industry standards
  • Collaborate with security teams to enhance threat detection and incident response
  • Work on network segmentation, VPNs and zero trust architecture implementations

Requirements:

  • Certifications: Must have relevant industry certifications such as CCNP Security, PCNSE (Palo Alto), NSE4+ (Fortinet), ACSP (Aruba) or equivalent
  • Experience: At least five years in network engineering with a security-first approach
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience with firewalls, switches and network security appliances
  • Expertise in Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet and Aruba technologies
  • Deep understanding of network protocols including BGP, OSPF, VLANs and VPNs
  • Knowledge of zero trust security models and SIEM tools is a plus
  • Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex security and network issues efficiently
  • Language: Dutch and English are mandatory
