Role description

We are seeking a highly experienced and influential Asset Management Consultant to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for a recognized leader in the field to drive transformative change within major utilities and similar asset-intensive sectors across Europe.You will be a trusted advisor to our clients, guiding them through complex asset management challenges and delivering tangible business performance improvements. Your deep industry knowledge, practical experience, and exceptional leadership skills will be instrumental in shaping the future of asset management.

Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Consulting: Lead transformation blueprint exercises for major utilities transmission and distribution companies (or similar sectors like water, gas, telecommunications), developing comprehensive strategies for optimizing asset lifecycle management.
  • Business Solutions Expertise: Provide expert advice and develop tailored solutions for physical asset management across all lifecycle functions, including planning, engineering design and build, operations and maintenance, and performance management. Imminent emphasis on defining Business solution architecture for lifecycle processes related to Work (capex/ opex) initiation à planning à preparation à scheduling à execution à closure
  • Performance Improvement: Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering tangible business performance improvements within the industry, such as cost reduction, increased asset availability, and improved operational efficiency.
  • Technical Proficiency: Possess extensive knowledge of enterprise asset management (EAM), field services management (FSM), engineering procurement and construction (EPC) tools, asset performance management (APM) solutions, and other relevant technologies. Hands-on implementation experience in solutions such as IBM Maximo MAS, IFS FSM Cloud etc., is highly desirable.
  • Architectural Expertise: Manage the architecture over different phases of the program by –
  • Creating/ driving architectural artefacts over different phases of development to ensure consistency of the solution at every stage (from a user, technology, and program efficiency perspective)
  • Taking a leading governance role in the architecture team and in the design authority of the client, as appropriate.

Experience :

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 10+ consultants on large-scale transformation programs, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Thought Leadership: Actively participate in industry bodies, contribute to thought leadership initiatives, and maintain a strong presence within the European asset management community. Your established reputation as a "Guru" in the field and strong client relationships are highly valued.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Vendor Management: Leverage established relationships with product vendors in the asset management space to ensure clients have access to the best solutions available.
  • IT-OT Convergence: Demonstrate experience working with IT-OT solutions relevant to asset management, bridging the gap between operational technology and information technology.

Qualifications :

  • 15+ years of experience in asset management within utilities transmission and distribution or similar sectors (water, gas, telecommunications).
  • Practitioner experience in asset management, combined with a strong consulting background.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large-scale transformation programs.
  • Deep understanding of asset lifecycle management principles and best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant software solutions (EAM, FSM, EPC, APM). Hands-on implementation experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory, good to have German proficiency as well.
  • Established network of contacts within the European asset management community.
  • Active participation in industry bodies and recognized as a thought leader.
  • Experience working with IT-OT solutions.

Additional Desirable Requirements :

  • Experience in developing and implementing asset management standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 55001).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • A passion for driving innovation and improving asset management practices.
  • Travel: Maintain flexibility to travel within Europe to meet client needs and participate in industry events.
