Client Overview:

Our client is a dynamic and innovative player in the SaaS sector, dedicated to accelerating the growth of their portfolio companies. They specialize in private equity fund investments and are seeking a highly skilled Head of Finance to lead and oversee the financial strategy of their portfolio in the Netherlands. This is a key leadership role that will drive the financial performance and growth of their SaaS investments.

Role Overview:

The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the private equity fund, focusing on the SaaS sector. This includes providing strategic financial leadership, managing reporting and compliance, and driving operational efficiencies to ensure the success of the portfolio companies. The role requires someone with a strong understanding of private equity, SaaS financial metrics, and the ability to work with senior leadership to deliver value across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial operations for the private equity fund, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting for SaaS portfolio companies.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that will drive growth and value creation for the portfolio.
  • Oversee financial due diligence for new investments and manage the financial exit strategies.
  • Build, maintain, and utilize complex financial models for performance assessment and growth planning.
  • Ensure that all financial operations comply with Dutch and EU regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to identify financial opportunities, risks, and improvements across the portfolio.
  • Present clear and actionable financial insights to investors and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a finance team, fostering growth and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, such as Head of Finance or Finance Director, within private equity or venture capital.
  • Strong expertise in the SaaS sector, with a solid understanding of SaaS financial metrics, business models, and unit economics.
  • Deep knowledge of private equity fund operations, including fund structure, valuation, reporting, and compliance.
  • Experience building and managing complex financial models, budgets, forecasts, and reports.
  • In-depth understanding of Dutch and EU financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into strategic recommendations.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing a high-performing finance team.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CFA qualifications are a plus).
