The HR Business Partner is responsible for administering the daily HR operation activities including HR system administration, recruiting, and employee relations for the Zoetermeer business unit. This role will focus on integrating the Zoetermeer team into the eMolecules HR systems and processes.

This is a part-time role, working up to 24 hours per week.

This role is based in our Zoetermeer, Netherlands office, supporting approximately 30 employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

May include some or all of the following. Other additional duties may be assigned:

· Facilitate full cycle recruitment activities as needed, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, conducting reference checks and selecting candidates. Works with hiring manager(s) to ensure appropriate screening and interviewing practices are followed. Coordinate with local staffing agencies for temporary employee support as needed.

· Lead onboarding process for new employees including preparing offer letters/employment contracts, payroll documents, etc

· Update all HR data in HRIS

· Work with HR corporate team to translate HR documents from English to Dutch as needed

· Work with HR corporate team to integrate Zoetermeer team into HR talent management system (training and performance development). Will facilitate onsite trainings as needed.

· Work with HR corporate team to create Netherlands employee handbook (including translating to Dutch), in accordance with local employment law

· Provides HR guidance to business unit managers and ensures HR activities are aligned with business needs.

· HR resource for employees and managers for employee relations and company policies and procedures interpretation

· Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to site management (i.e. coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.)

  • Handles all employee relations matters including coaching managers, conducting investigations, create and gather documentation, and coordinate escalations when necessary

· Works closely with business unit management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and increase retention

· Administers and tracks all leave of absences and workers' compensation claims ensuring all applicable labor laws are applied and documented accordingly.

· Works with HR Manager and/or VP, HR in updating/creating job descriptions for business unit, will assist in reviewing compensation trends in geographic territory.

· Administers the performance management program, including annual reviews. Will assist with reviewing and communicating merit increases

  • Assists HR leadership with internal communication initiatives
  • Facilitates employee engagement activities.
  • Supports company values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture. 

Education and/or experience


• Fluency in English and Dutch required


• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organization Leadership, or business discipline; or equivalent training and experience


• 3+ years' of human resources employee relations and recruitment work experience;


• Comprehensive understanding of Dutch employment laws and regulations


• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills


• Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Dutch)


• Must be very detail oriented


• Ability to manage multiple projects and details. Can take action without direction to make sure important tasks are completed. Proactively looks for ways to improve processes and shifts strategy or approach in response to the demands of a situation


• Self-confidence and the ability to adapt to changing environments. Knowledge of change management theories and drive positive change.


• Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, tact, and poise in handling highly sensitive, and confidential information
