Your role:
As part of our growth ambition and commitment to maintaining a robust compliance framework, we are looking to expand our team with a dedicated (senior) Compliance Officer. Our new colleague has at least 5 years of work experience with a focus on Customer Compliance and Financial Markets in the banking sector.
The new Compliance Officer will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing due diligence and investigating potential compliance incidents, such as fraud or money laundering
- Carrying out compliance monitoring activities
- Establishing, maintaining and implementing compliance policies and procedures
- Monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures within the organization
- Assist in the coordination of follow-up actions for requests from regulatory authorities and timely responses
- Advising management and other departments on compliance issues and the interpretation of regulations
- Support local Head of Compliance in preparing reports for management
- Keeping track of developments in legislation and regulations and translating changes to the organization
Who are we looking for?

You are a cooperating person who listens and invests in the work and persons to achieve common goals.
- At least 5 years of experience in a compliance position within the financial sector, preferably in the banking sector
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as the Wwft/AML, Wft, GDPR, and other financial compliance standards
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex regulations into practical solutions
- Experience with compliance monitoring, risk analysis and preparing reports
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluent in both English and Dutch
Education:
- At least a bachelor degree in law, finance or a related field
- Certificates like CCP or ECCP are a bonus

In the heart of the Zuidas, Commerzbank AG Benelux branch, with currently 56 people, is located in a modern just completely renovated office. Commerzbank is one of the leading big banks in Germany and one of the most important in Europe. Commerzbank has been present in the Netherlands since 1973 and focuses on Corporate Clients in the Belgian, Dutch and Luxemburg market. A particular strength is to facilitate the international growth of our export-oriented clients.
Our local Compliance team currently consists of 4 people, working closely together across the areas AML/CTF, Sanctions, Markets Compliance, Fraud and Anti-bribery and Corruption, supported by subject matter experts at our headquarters in Frankfurt and colleagues in the international locations in Europe and Asia.
