Senior Structural Engineer FEM

ppArcadis delivers sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. /ph3Role description: /h3pThe structural engineer we are looking for is a specialist in high-end structural engineering, focused on analysing, modelling and assessing complex structural challenges using the finite element method (FEM). In this role, you combine in-depth structural expertise with advanced numerical modelling skills and the ability to interpret sophisticated analysis results. /ppYou provide well-substantiated analyses that support design decisions, risk assessments and safety or damage-related challenges for complex infrastructure and building structures, such as bridges and tunnels. You work in multidisciplinary teams and act as a technical sparring partner for colleagues and project teams. /ppThe purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality analyses for challenges that cannot be addressed using conventional methods. In doing so, you directly contribute to safe, buildable and cost-effective design choices, while strengthening Arcadis’ expertise and position in complex projects. /ph3Role accountabilities: /h3ulliIndependently setting up, executing and reviewing advanced FEM analyses for complex structural challenges /liliDefining the appropriate modelling approach and making well-considered choices regarding assumptions and boundary conditions /liliEnsuring models are technically sound and reproducible /liliAnalysing outcomes and translating them into clear recommendations, risk assessments and well-substantiated decisions within projects /liliContributing directly to design and verification processes, including specialised topics such as re-calculations and structural assessments /liliSafeguarding the quality of analyses and reports so they are transparent, traceable and technically robust /liliCollaborating closely with other disciplines and aligning with project teams /liliEngaging directly with clients and stakeholders to explain complex analyses, assumptions and outcomes in understandable and actionable terms /liliSupporting and coaching junior and mid-level colleagues and contributing to knowledge building and innovation within the field /li /ulh3Qualifications

Experience:
/h3ulliMSc or BSc degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable discipline /liliDemonstrated experience with advanced structural analyses and finite element modelling /liliStrong theoretical foundation in structural mechanics, material behaviour, stability, dynamics and numerical analysis /liliHands-on experience with specialised FEM software and advanced analysis tools /liliAbility to translate complex technical analyses into clear, well-substantiated reports and actionable recommendations /liliExperience within infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels or similar structures is considered a strong advantage /liliExperience working in environments where advanced analyses directly support design decisions, re-calculations and structural assessments is preferred /li /ulpArcadis offers you a role with a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to shape your work independently within an ambitious and driven team.
