**Alliance Maritime** provides commercial, technical and financial shipping solutions for the maritime sector. The company has an international orientation, with a fleet of more then 20 vessels trading worldwide. The company culture is international, with short communication lines and a passion for shipping. We are searching for an enthusiastic finance employee who can take on the position of **Ship Accountant** to complete our team.

As a Ship Accountant you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and work closely with the financial controller and commercial operators to provide quality financial information and documentation. You will be working in our office in the centre of The Hague, where the main language is English.

**Key responsibilities**
- Entry of sales and purchase invoices
- Run cashbook and setup payments
- Full reconciliation of all purchase/sales/bank accounts
- Monthly entry of journals
- Monthly entry and reconciliation of technical management reports (BS and P&L)
- Maintain vessel voyage and charter files and records, manually and online
- Full reconciliation of disbursements, brokerage, bunkers, commercial commissions and fees
- Drawing up invoices for commercial commissions, fees, charters
- Prepare quarterly VAT return
- Assistance in any KYC information requests
- Assistance in periodic and year end closing
- Assistance in the audit process

In this full-time (40 hours per week) job you will need the following skills, experience & knowledge:
**Profile**
- Relevant qualification in accounting and/or business economics
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Experience with the online accounting software Twinfield is an advantage
- Working experience in an international company
- Working experience with group companies: consolidation and intercompany accounts
- Good team playing and communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and personal drive to meet deadlines
