Job objective

This position will support Validation/Reliability Engineers and/or the Lab Manger in all aspects of laboratory testing and operations. The Technician role will consist of setting up test stands (environmental/vibration/electrical), installing test parts, following designated procedures and actively testing parts to validate conformance. Testing will include collecting data to be used in Laboratory test reports, and setting up continuous monitoring equipment when appropriate. Testing will be in accordance with internal and customer specifications.

General description of activities

Activities
- Responsible for ensuring timely and complete verification and validation testing on products that are being developed by Stoneridge / Orlaco or must be tested in accordance with Conformity of Production requirements.
- Develop test procedures, fixtures and setups.
- Creates prototypes.
- Completes data and takes care of documentation (test reports).
- Manages testing tools for ‘environmental’ tests.
- Lab tool
- Makes proposals for product improvements.
- Supports colleagues.
- Performs general activities in the PD department.
- Making sure all PV test equipment in the laboratory is up and running.
- Create and maintain PV test equipment maintenance & calibration plans.
- Perform/book PV test equipment maintenance & calibration according to the maintenance plan.

Other activities
- Shares ideas concerning new developments in (advanced ) engineering. Uses own experience to offer instructions and solutions.
- Registers worked hours, along with description of project.
- Offers service in the field of product-related testing and research.
- Helps to keep the deparmentent 5S.

Knowledge and Skills
- MBO (Secondary vocational education) level of professional and mental skills (Electrical/mechanical/mechatonics).
- Good level of knowledge of the English language, spoken and written.
- Able to work in a global team.

- Good communication skills with colleagues.
- Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project)
