American School of The Hague (ASH) is looking for a full-time primary school classroom teacher (kindergarten / first grade) for our dual language pathway classroom, SY 2024 /2025.

Start date is August 1, 2024.

Location: Wassenaar, on the north side of The Hague

In addition you;
- have an MA preferably with specialization in elementary teaching and learning, literacy and/or special education,
- speak both Dutch and English fluently,
- have experience with current international educational practices including curriculum integration, research-based literacy instruction, using data to drive instruction, standards-based planning and assessments, and social emotional learning integration.

**The Role**: The role is supervised by the Elementary School Principal and you’ll collaborate with the grade level teams. As part of the 60 strong Elementary School faculty, you will be working in our Early Childhood Center as part of an innovative launch of a dual language pathway. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of teachers and specialists to help enhance the teaching and learning experience of these young students. You will be working with a Teaching Assistant and will be responsible for evaluating the Teaching Assistant on an annual basis and will be supported in doing this.

Daily lunch cover is part of your work as is supporting parents and students after school hours as needed. You will be actively involved in school-wide, divisional, and grade level meetings and have the opportunity to engage fully and openly in a professional learning community. Your voice matters in the conversation as to how we can all best serve the needs of our students. If you have talents or interests outside of school in the areas of music, athletics, the arts or other such interests, bring them with you as you’ll be participating in after school activities in support of our students. Your “can do” attitude will be essential for your success in your daily school life.

Strong, open communications will be your hallmark. You will be actively involved in school-wide, divisional, and grade level meetings and engage fully and openly in a professional learning community.
