**Field Researcher, Agronomical Development, BU Microbiology (**_40 hours a week, Berkel en Rodenrijs, Rotterdam area, The Netherlands)_
We are looking for a Research with experience working with Field-Research in the area of Plant Sciences with affinity and background in agricultural applied research.
Strong problem-solving skills and communication and a keen team player are a must
**Your tasks and responsibilities**
As Field Researcher in the Field-crew, together with a dedicated team, you will be (co)accountable for Global Field Research, and supporting our Marketing department with Global Market Development trials. On a daily basis, you will be in close contact with your direct colleagues (Field Research Team in the Netherlands) and international colleagues (Global Field research Team) connecting, aligning, facilitating, and guiding all aspects of our Field research. Depending on the season, part of your daily tasks will be to compose standardized global protocols.
In particular you will:
- Facilitate the alignment within the international Field-crew, and with their CROs, to assure full execution of all trials, minimising non-valid trials
- Find, contact and guide CROs (certified research organizations) that will execute field trials in NL and around the world.
- Write standardised research protocols that will guide field trials, in full contact with the field-crew.
- Transfer the protocols to the key international counterparts that will supervise the trials locally, and support them along the entire process of the completion of the trials
- Annually visit the key countries to contribute to keep connecting internationally
- Translate output from the early phase research into the base of these protocols
- On a more abstract level, contribute to keep developing the Global Field Research, and the Department
- In addition, importantly, to team-up with Market Development to translate generated knowledge into effective market entrance.
**The Agronomical Development research department**
We believe in bringing to Agriculture effective reliable knowledge-based sustainable solutions, that can build trust and differentiate our biologicals.
You will join the Agronomical Development team in the Netherlands. This team invests in high quality research, fully connected to practice, designed with and for supporting sales and marketing of Microbial Products, with the ultimate aim to introduce in the market sustainable alternatives for pest and disease control in Modern Agriculture.
Agronomical Development is an international department composed by a multidisciplinary team with complementary areas of expertise; scientists and agronomists converge in this department. We research our developing and marketed Microbial Products to support knowledge-based business decisions and provide the know-how to the technical teams recommendation’s to the growers, while providing robust data for registration. Agronomical Development is a natural link between the last phase of product development and first steps of product marketing, as our products are tested all the way till scientifically sound validation under commercial conditions. Using our core expertise in agricultural research we connect closely with the Market Access and Business Development Teams, who define our research questions and team up with us to transfer the knowledge into effective recommendations and marketing campaigns based on solid, well-visualized data.
**The Business Unit Microbiology**
On-going global changes keep raising new challenges on how to adapt current agriculture and horticulture practices to ensure sustainable food production. In recent years, the expanded knowledge on microorganisms has inspired Koppert to further invest in developing microbial solutions to empower sustainable food production. The Business Unit Microbiology in The Netherlands is dedicated to the development, production and characterization of microbial products to control diseases and pests and promote plant growth and health. Composed by about 50 passionate employees, it is organized into six core groups focused on Production, Process Engineering, Quality Control, and Research & Development.
**What are you bringing to Koppert?**
- A PhD in Plant Sciences or a related field
- Experience on agricultural field research
- Affinity with experimental design and data analysis; you do understand the core principles of scientific evidence and statistical analysis
- Experience with ARM is a plus.
- Problem-solving skills and a solution focused mind is a must
