Job description

As a Panel Builder at Van Meer, you will mainly work on the construction and assembly of electrical control cabinets, in our workshop in Tholen. In fact, these cabinets ensure that various devices, for example a tugboat or jack-up system, can be electrically driven. On the basis of technical drawings from the Engineering department you can start building these cabinets, which is done using different standards. Namely:

- Reading 3D drawings;
- Application of correct tightening torques;
- Drawing off your own wiring diagrams;
- Noting any changes, to reduce errors;
- Using specific tools (such as a kiesling machine and wire terminal).

Each project is divided into 6 different phases. These phases consist of mechanically assembling parts such as sheet metal and copper, placing, labeling and assembling various components and taking care of the (entire) wiring. In addition to working in our workshop, you may also be asked, not required, to support any Field projects. These can be projects at home, but also abroad

To deliver high-quality products to (inter)national customers, your knowledge of mechanical and electrical components, as well as insight into mechanical and electrical schematics, is essential. Quality is therefore high on your list, and if you identify any deviations you will discuss these with the Project Coordinator.

In addition, we will provide you with a well-stocked tool bag and you will have your own work cart at your disposal, in order to carry out your work properly. This contains your own stuff, so you have everything close at hand. We will also provide you with a smartphone so that you can access the digital working environment. Think of Outlook, Microsoft Teams and our digital time portal.

What are you bringing?

While experience in this field is a plus, it is not a requirement. However, a passion for technology, drive and enthusiasm are essential. An MBO degree in Mechatronics or electrical engineering can support you in this. As a panel builder you function well in a team, but you can also work independently on projects. Of course, safety comes first for you.

Furthermore, you are;
- In possession of a VCA certificate;
- In possession of a driving license B;
- Flexible;
- Solution-oriented.

What do we offer you?

Van Meer is a strongly growing and driven family business with an international character, which achieves its success through various dynamic teams with dedicated professionals. In addition, Van Meer is a professional company with an informal working environment, so we also regularly organize fun staff activities. You will be working in a modern and bright building with spacious workplaces and all the necessary facilities to discover your potential.

Furthermore, we offer you;
- A great job as a panel builder;
- We pay a good salary which is common in the sector;
- Travel allowance;
- 27 vacation days;
- 13 ADV days;
- A nice canteen, changing rooms and showers;
- The possibility to start via a work-study program (BBL);
- Pleasant and informal team that is young at heart;
- Extensive training program;
- Participation in staff activities, such as monthly staff drinks and fun team outings.
