**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
At Nido, we are on an ambitious journey to become Europe’s leading Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) provider. With our new headquarters in Amsterdam and expansion into key markets like Germany and Italy, we are building a world-class team to support our growth. The Talent Acquisition Business Partner will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class recruitment experience across Nido’s corporate and operational teams. The role will focus on hiring junior to senior positions for our staff departments, coordinating recruitment for our assets, and organizing recruitment events for our expanding portfolio. Additionally, this role will play a key part in enhancing our employer brand, driving recruitment marketing initiatives, and developing recruitment processes to support our international expansion.
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for recording, organizing and managing financial transactions and entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and efficiency in financial operations.
**KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES** (include but are not limited to)
**Financial recordkeeping / transaction processing**
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the student housing properties.
- Record all financial transactions, including purchase and sales invoices, payments and payroll, accurately and promptly into the appropriate accounting software in accordance with accounting principles.
- Prepare payments to vendors and maintain vendor records, including outstanding balances, contact information and payment terms.
- Generate and issue invoices to customers for services rendered; track and record customer payments, follow up on overdue accounts and reconcile account balances.
- Perform monthly-closing entries and processes.
- Maintain subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying and allocating transactions.
**Reconciliation**
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that bank statements reconcile with the organization's financial records, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
- Reconcile entries to balance subsidiary accounts.
**Financial Reporting**
- Assists in preparing financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, providing management with insights into the financial performance of the student housing properties.
**Other**
- Additionally, it may be required to perform various duties and responsibilities beyond those outlined in this role profile job description as needed.
**Requirements**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Completed vocational training or hold relevant certifications in accounting along with several years of practical work experience.
**EXPERIENCE**
- Three plus years of experience in bookkeeping or related accounting roles, preferable for multiple jurisdictions across Europe.
- Understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software and systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- International experience (preferred); fluency in working English is mandatory, additional language(s) is/are an asset (esp. Dutch, Spanish, German, Italian).

- **Problem-Solving Abilities**: Bookkeepers often encounter complex financial issues that require innovative problem-solving skills to identify root causes, resolve discrepancies, and prevent future errors.
- **Organizational Skills**: Strong organizational skills are essential for managing financial documents, invoices, receipts, and other records efficiently, facilitating smooth workflow and easy access to information.
