**Lead Barista / **Roastery Lab Assistant**
- Based in _**_Amsterdam_**_, starting as soon as possible._

**Who we’re looking for**

A dynamic coffee expert with minimum 3 years experience in customer service. You enjoy crafting on point espressos, can confidently brew a well balanced pour over, and you love a bit of latte art. Alongside shifts in our bars sharing your passion with colleagues and customers, you’re keen to level up your knowledge within the roastery setting. If you’re a good fit for Wakuli you’re someone who loves to fully engage with your work, you’re happy to share ideas to overcome challenges together and at times adapt quickly to respond to last minute opportunities. You have a ‘can do’ attitude, can work methodically to tackle a challenge and have the ability to work independently.

**The role**
As a Roastery Lab Assistant: 2 days per week working at our roastery alongside the product team; cupping coffee, roasting samples, producing key ingredients for our bars (like our homemade chai and syrups). Full training for all aspects of this part of the role will be offered with many future opportunities, for the right person, to learn more as we continue to grow.

As a Lead Barista: Assisting Store Managers with onboarding and training new baristas or sharing brewing and latte art skills with the wider team or even give brewing workshops to the Wakuli audience, taking shifts in our Amsterdam bars and from time-to-time working our varied events with our La Marzocco machines.

**What you'll own**:
**As a Roastery Lab Assistant**:

- Green coffee samples management incl. moisture analysis, sample roasting
- Manage and participate in cupping sessions
- Support production of centrally made products like our famous chai tea
- General management/organisation of the lab

**As a Lead Barista**:

- Work across different locations in Amsterdam
- Represent Wakuli at special events
- Support your Store Management Team and Training Team to help coach and mentor new barista colleagues as well as customers in our workshops
- Maintain coffee quality standards across your store and assist coffee trainers in ensuring recipes are up to date

**What you'll bring**
- 3+ years experience in customer service, restaurant or retail position
- Fluency in English and preferably Dutch
- Strong knowledge of, or willingness to learn quickly about specialty coffee and a roastery environment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Minimum 24 hours a week of flexible availability - of which at least one shift on Saturday or Sunday and ability to start early (6.30 am for some shifts)
