**Two Research Assistant Positions: Experiment Programming and Data Analysis in AI Speech and Lip-Sync Research**

Contract size: 0.3 FTE (12 hours per week)
Full-time gross monthly salary based on fulltime employment: €. 2.715 - 2.951
Contract duration: 5 months.
Start date: November 15,2024, and January 15, 2025.

We are seeking two motivated and skilled student assistants to join a cutting-edge research project at the intersection of artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction. This project, titled “AI Lipsync”, is going to evaluate the accuracy of speech and lip movement synchronization in AI-agents and its Impact on user experience. We focus on investigating how advanced AI-driven lip-sync technology affects perception of realism, engagement, and trust in AI agents.

**Responsibilities**
- Programming and Experiment Setup: Assist in programming experimental tasks (using platforms like Python, MATLAB, or similar) to analyze speech and lip synchronization in AI agents.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Support data acquisition using EEG and eye-tracking systems, as well as perform statistical analysis of the collected data.
- Collaborate with the research team in designing and running the experiment for testing AI-human speech interactions.
- Participate in literature reviews and contribute to the ongoing refinement of the neuropsychological model for predicting human brain responses to AI-driven speech.

**Who can apply?**
Students from Tilburg University who have obtained at least 60 ECTS credits.

**Qualifications**
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or other similar tools.
- Experience in data analysis, especially using EEG, eye-tracking, or related tools.
- Background in computer science, cognitive science, psychology, or related fields.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary research team.
