Internship E-mobility Elastomers

For Sensata’s automotive pressure, temperature, and positioning sensors new elastomers are needed that are compatible with fuels, engine oils, transmission oils and electrical propulsion engine oil coolants.
Assignment:
Student should investigate different elastomer compounds for their respective compatibility with existing and future oils.
Aim: consider alternative compounds for the current ethylene acrylic rubber (AEM), nitrile (HNBR) and fluorocarbon-based rubber (FKM) seals in transmission, oil and (future) E-propulsion oil coolant pressure sensors with state-of-the-art elastomer optimized for cost and performance.
Your Background: Student Mechanical Engineering / Applied Physics / Chemical Engineering / Materials Science
- BSc. graduation project 6-9mth
- or MSc traineeship / graduation project 3/9mth
- Preferred: Affinity with Design for Six Sigma approach
- Pro-active approach towards Sensata internal parties
