We have an exciting position available for an experienced Healthcare professional interested in working in our vibrant international school in Amsterdam.

Ideally, you will be a B.I.G. registered nursing professional and a fluent Dutch & English speaker, and, ideally, you'll have some experience of working with children and young people in a healthcare setting.

Our Healthcare Officer manages a busy role in our large school, with responsibility for student healthcare and well-being, staff training, and the planning, management, and administration of related healthcare and reporting procedures.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for all aspects of student healthcare management
- Attend to on-site incidents or accidents requiring first aid treatment
- Provide nursing care to any child that is unwell
- Maintain accident/incidents administration and reports
- Implement disease control management procedures in the school
- Maintain accurate records for pupils with chronic illness or special health needs
- Ensure medical data is correctly updated in school system
- Train & support staff in providing health-related services (e.g. Epi Pens)
- Initiate referrals & follow-up for pupils with suspected/identified health problems
- Provide presentations to parents on health-related topics affecting students
- Participate in emergency health & crisis management planning for the school
- Provide guidance and support to families requiring access to treatment services
- Collaborate with community agencies (.e.g GGD)
- Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements for The Netherlands
- Adhere to ethical standards of nursing practice

**Person Specification**
- BIG nursing registration (Netherlands) - preferred
- Relevant nursing experience
- Experience working with children and young people - preferred
- Experience in well-being & mental health, specifically for children & young people - preferred
- Fluent in English & Dutch
- Experience in an educational setting would be useful (e.g. school nurse or similar)

**Remuneration**:
Depending on experience, starting at €3.800,00 per month for full-time employment (40 hours per week).

- Dutch (preferred)

License/Certification:

- B.I.G. nurse registration (Netherlands) (preferred)
