Regional Segment Manager Infrastructure

The regional Segment Manager, Infrastructure, Plants & Facilities, is responsible for developing and executing the growth strategy for this segment. The role will work closely with global and regional sales, product management, marketing, technical, and supply chain functions.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Execute global and regional segment strategies based on understanding of customer needs, industry and competitive dynamics, and PPG position. Work with other stakeholders to drive execution. Support overall business strategy processes.
- Prepare commercial parts of Annual Business Strategic Review and Regional Business Revies through Market assessments. Improve knowledge-base of market landscape including market as a whole, segmentation of market, opportunities for coatings, current competitive landscape, and current PPG business and position within the market.
- Industry and competitors: monitor and evaluate industry and competitor developments, marketing actions, products, position, strengths and weaknesses to anticipate competitor response to SBU initiatives. Analyze competitors’ global offerings and strategically position the PPG offerings appropriately to succeed.
- Segment Value Propositions: Compile, prepare and update segment targeted value propositions in collaboration with the global segment, product, testing and certification and technical teams. Collaborate with Marketing Communication teams to create the relevant content and cascade these effectively into internal sales training and external sales and marketing activities.
- SBU coordination: Serve as central point to coordinate with other functions within business to ensure segment strategies are regionally executed. Functionally coordinate with global segment managers to ensure alignment of with strategies.
- Provide in-depth support for regions to identify and pursue opportunities, ensuring training and selling tools relevant to their segments are available and deployed.
- Customers and key accounts: Ensure coverage and proper management of key accounts in sub-segment, by the sales teams. Coverage includes non-buying key accounts such as regional asset owners, engineering houses and specifiers.
- Product development pipeline: actively participate in the SBU new product development processes as they relate to the sub-segment market and customer needs to drive value added solutions.
- Key product localizations: ensure that key products in the sub-segment are being evaluated and available for EMEA opportunities.
**Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience**:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related degree.
- At least 3 years’ experience in strategy, marketing, engineering, or sales within the chemical industry.
- Demonstrates creative and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in gathering and analyzing market intelligence. Ability to assemble and organize multiple sources of intelligence into a clear market assessment.
- Strong business acumen demonstrating ability to define, develop and execute new business opportunities.
- Ability to translate/quantify data and other information and make reliable decisions on viable business prospect identification.
- Ability to directly and effectively engage external customers.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence in a matrix environment (cross-functional, cross-regional, and cross-SBU).
- Experience and exposure to global business dynamics and the ability to drive implementation of required activities across all regions.
- Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, team player, dynamic, creative and ability to work on own initiative
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas to summarize complex issues
- Strong professionalism and work ethic
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
