**Reach of the role**:
- The Chief Architect heads up the architecture department on 4PS HQ level which consists of all architects in 4PS and is steering the architecture function on all org. level (HQ, Cluster, in-country) directly.
- The architecture department, rooted in 4PS HQ, is functionally accountable for architecture across the 4PS software products.
- One main goal for architecture is to provide more generic functionality into 4PS going forward to contain an ungoverned expansion and complexity of the solution but to ensure simplicity to enable a further growth to go to 10+ more markets (countries) in the next coming years.
- Architecture and Product Management need to work closely together and take the responsibility to front-load the backlogs with the right features and enablers.
- Architecture takes the lead in providing the technology strategy and architecture to enable innovations towards 4PS customers as well as to boost internal productivity (e.g. DevOps, Automation)
- The Chief Architect is imperative to shape and implement the integration of the Construction Software Ecosystem at Hilti of which 4PS is a key part.
- The Chief Architect 4PS is a member of the Architecture leadership team on Construction Software level which contains all SaaS products of Hilti.
- The Chief Architect 4PS reports into the Director Product and Development of the 4PS Group and functionally into the Chief Architect Construction Software at Hilti.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Responsible to develop and maintain the architectural vision and strategy for the software products of 4PS (Global and localizations) encompassing Business Architecture, Technology Architecture, and DevOps.
- Lead and mentor a team of architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Lead technical decisions, such as technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns, that impact product development and product quality.
- Leads the Architecture board at 4PS HQ.
- Mentor and coach the architects within the Architecture board to improve their skills and performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Operations, to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
- Champion architectural excellence, ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and quality guidelines within architecture and development processes.
- Support (local) architects in solving complex technical challenges and share best practices.
- Owns Product Security to continuously improve the product security posture.
- Develops a strategy for DevOps within the organization
Furthermore, you will be responsible for:
- Oversees the implementation of DevOps methods and technologies to improve the efficiency of development and deployment cycles (Promote automation, CI/CD).
- Drive innovation and differentiation by exploring new technologies, evaluating industry trends, and conceptualizing groundbreaking features and functionalities and advise on their potential impact on products and business strategy.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations on technical matters and strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a key liaison for stakeholders, effectively communicating technical concepts, risks, and trade-offs in a clear and concise manner.
- Works closely together with DevOps function at Construction Software level.
- Contribute to the Architecture leadership team in Construction Software at Hilti.
- Represent the company at customers and/or technical events.
**Required skills and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (15 years+) in a senior technical leadership role, preferably as a Chief Architect or similar capacity, within the SaaS or enterprise software domain.
- Deep understanding of Business Management systems, ERP concepts, and cloud-based architectures. Preferably there is in-depth experience of Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem available with particular know-how in Microsoft Business Central.
- Extensive knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with modern technologies and frameworks, such as microservices, containerization, serverless computing, and cloud-native development.
- Strong proficiency in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
