**About the Role**

We are currently seeking an Intern to join our Cities, Planning and Design team in Arup, The Netherlands.

As an Transport or Urban Planner or Urban Designer Intern at Arup, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team alongside talented senior engineers and mentors who share the ambition to create a better world. You will work on iconic projects ranging from stations and hubs, active mobility, smart mobility, strategic planning and urban design all contributing to the sustainable development of our cities.

The role will be based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and offers an open plan office facilitating a collaborative working environment. The office is comprised of both Dutch and international colleagues making it well connected to the global Arup network.

Our goal is to help you harness the full range of your imagination, technical rigour, and experience to create new, remarkable outcomes. Together we will formulate an appropriate assignment for your internship or graduation assignment. With the guidance and support of senior colleagues, you will be provided with opportunities to develop skills in for example;
- Development of sustainable and innovative traffic and transport systems
- Active mobility planning.
- Planning and design of stations and hubs.
- Agent Based Modelling, data analysis and programming.
- Smart mobility for example into shared mobility, Zero Emission zones and Road user charging.
- Integral thinking and integration of mobility, urban planning and design.
- Pedestrian planning and modelling.
- Translate plans in spatial designs.

**What You Bring**

For this role at Arup, we are looking for someone who;
- Is completing minimum second year of study in Built Environment.
- Has excellent command of the Dutch and/or English (verbal and written B2- C level) languages.
- Has interest in design our cities, villages and infrastructure in the best possible way.
- Is motivated, driven and eager to learn.
- Is good at absorbing information, picking up new concepts quickly, critical thinking and problem solving.
- Is enthusiastic, proactive and enjoys working in a collaborative and international environment.
- Shares the same ethos and values as Arup and sees yourself as an ambassador.
