We are seeking a motivated intern/working student with a practical can-do attitude to join the space plane propulsion team at Dawn Aerospace in Delfgauw, the Netherlands. Your main responsibility will be to update the existing propellant pump testbench, enabling longer duration pump tests. This will involve design, manufacturing, and assembly tasks. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support ongoing subsystem tests conducted by the propulsion team. Your contributions will be crucial in achieving full system qualification of flight critical subsystems for the Mk-II Aurora Spaceplane.
**Responsibilities**:
- Evaluate the current pump testbench and identify any shortcomings.
- Design an upgrade for the testbench.
- Source and manufacture components for the testbench.
- Assemble the new testbench.
- Support test activities using the new testbench.
**Requirements**:
- Currently enrolled in an engineering-related BSc or MSc program.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design, preferably SolidWorks.
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously with mínimal direction and as part of a team.
- Willingness to perform both theoretical and practical tasks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility with working hours to accommodate occasional video calls with colleagues from other offices (Dawn Aerospace is based in the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the USA).
**Preferred Experience**:
- Familiarity with feed systems is highly advantageous.
- Experience with electrical wiring techniques (crimping, stripping, soldering, etc.) is highly advantageous.
- Experience working with LabVIEW or LabVIEW-based programs is a plus.
- Experience in testing.
- Background in aerospace engineering.
