The Whisky Auctioneer Group specialises in auctioning whisky, rum and wine whether it be fine, old, rare, collectable or affordable. Formed in 2013 and based in Perth, central Scotland, our websites aim to be the most comprehensive websites available for the buying and selling of whisky, rum and wine. Our exciting and fast-growing company launched in 2013 with Whisky Auctioneer then Wine Auctioneer and Rum Auctioneer followed in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

Together our Group companies aim to be the global market leaders and trusted authorities on the buying and selling of whisky and spirits at auction. **Role: Auction Assistant**

The position of Auction Assistant is a multi-disciplined role which involves the management of all incoming items for auction, including listing of products for Whisky and Rum Auctioneer. This role reports to the Auction Team Lead.

**Key deliverables for this role include**:

- Listing and authentication of items exhibited in monthly online and specialist auctions for Whisky and Rum Auctioneer.
- Provide the highest possible levels of care for client collections, and communication with clients in relation to the arrival of their goods, and any problems that they need to be notified of in relation to this.
- Deliver on KPIs relating to auction quality and performance.
- Communicating with Head Curator & Spirits Specialist to ensure interesting and exciting lots are highlighted and promoted in each auction.
- Identify returned items and follow appropriate procedure.
- Understand the rejection and authenticity policies and ensure bottles with concerns are being flagged and recorded as per procedure.
- Receive, unpack and organising all incoming items for auction, from couriers, WA drivers and customers.
- Maintain accurate digital inventory of consignments.
- Monitor Salesforce Listing queue, carry out required tasks and update Salesforce case appropriately.
- Monitor Microsoft-Teams, ensuring requests are carried out and the team is updated.
- Management of storage for rejected and unsold items, including contacting customers to arrange relisting, shipping or disposal of items.
- Management of unsold/relist spreadsheets, ensuring requests are carried out and customers informed.
- Work closely with all teams within Whisky, Rum and Wine Auctioneer.
- Always ensure good housekeeping.
- Carry out general warehouse related tasks when requested.

**Requirements for this role include**:

- Strong written and IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with rest of the team and with customers.
- Attention to detail, ensuring rejection and authenticity checks are made.
- Naturally commercial and have an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Excellent organisational skills.

**Additional Info, Salary and Benefits**

This is a Full-time post.We are offering a starting annual salary of €32,000 FTE. A Group Bonus Scheme exists based on trading performance.

Our office hours are 08:45 to 17:15, Monday to Friday.

Staff have the opportunity for training (e.g, WSET) and attending industry events and festivals. Support for any professional training requirements will be considered.
